I took a greyhound bus from New York City to Washington DC at 08/20/2011. With me was a suitcase, which contains my passport, a laptop and some cloth. After I arrived DC, the greyhound failed to find the suitcase on the bus. Also, another gentleman could not find his luggage, either. I described for them about what my suitcase look like and what are inside the suitcase. Staff in DC called Baltimore Greyhound, and Baltimore said they found the two luggages(mine and anohter guy's) and would send them to DC with tags saying the destination (Washington, DC) by the next bus. At around 1:30 pm 08/22/2011, the other guy got his luggage back and the DC greyhound staff told me they only received one luggage. After that, I rent a car at DC and went to Baltimore Greyhound but failed to find my luggage there. According to the DC staff's word, Baltimore sent TWO luggages for TWO persons to DC. What's more, the buses they used to deliver the luggage only travels between Baltimore and Richmond. I personally checked the unclaimed luggages of greyhound in Baltimore and DC, found nothing. According to the greyhound policy, they will always send a luggage with a destination tag to the destination. It has been more than 48 hours after I arrived DC at 9:00 am 08/20/2011, and before I called the greyhound center in Texas, DC greyhound did not even give me a claim number or something like that.

Since the luggage should arrive DC and the truth is another person got his luggage which was shipped with my luggage on 08/22/2011, and only some of the staff at DC knew that I had some valuable things inside the suitcase, and the suitcase cannot always be on a bus. I PERSONALLT think that it was the staff at DC Greyhound who stole my luggage.

At least, the greyhound should admit one of the two below:

1. They did not get my luggage from Baltimore to the right place.

2. One or some staff stole my luggage.

(I kindly assume that greyhound protect the luggages from being taken by other customers.)

Monetary Loss: $2000.

Location: New York, New York

Hi Everyone that got robbed by Greyhound Lines, INC. I have moved few months ago from Los Angeles to Miami Beach and shipped 16 large boxes via Greyhound Lines, INC.

14 boxes were robbed, electronics, TV set, video camera, photo camera, stolen, half of my wardrobe stolen, expensive suits, dresses, leather jackets, most importantly I have also shipped large box containing all of my office paperwork, copies of client contracts, copies of my IRS tax returns, birth cerfificate, copies of my passport and social security was there and this box never arrived. I have suffered approximatelly 11,000.00 in stolen goods via greyhound. I am putting a class action law suite againts the Greyhound Corporation and I am looking for more victims that were carelessly robbed during their move from state to state in US by unlawful business practices of this company.

If you have similar experience with this company and would like to be part of this process email me at monroezuzana@***.com so far we have 5 people but we need 50 at least to file a class action law suite. Thank you and be strong!

Is this still in the works, it's been a while. They lost my homemade bicycle trailer in the midst of a cross country ride.

I had a similar problem: My bag got lost and I had the luggage check tag to prove I had a bag on that bus. Then this liar of an employee in Salt Lake City tells me that the bag is there and she'll send it to Missoula on the next bus.

A week later, it still didn't arrive. Each day I called and I was told it was definitely on the next bus. Lie after lie after lie. Well, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Agency, and filed complaints.

I also wrote my congressman because Greyhound is never taken to task like the airlines are: it's mostly low-income people who take the bus, so most politicians don't give a hoot.

I've got petitions and other things I'm getting signed to get some attention drawn to how awful and immoral the people who run and operate Greyhound are. I'd ask how they let their consciences let them live with how they treat their customers, but that's to wrongly assume that they have consciences in the first place.
