I hope you paid for this on a credit card. If so, you have 60 days after the purchase date to dispute the charge.

The cc company will want to know that you made a good faith claim with Megabus to resolve the problem first. If you paid cash then you'll be in a world of hurt as you'll be relying on the kindness of Megabus (or did you buy the tix from Greyhound?) to give you a refund. Regardless of whom you have to deal with you'll need to provide them with a written account of what happened. This is where you run into problems.

Did you read your own posting?

The whole paragraph is one run-on sentence. You must use effective grammar if you expect to be taken seriously. The fact that you approached a security guard suggests that you went to a Greyhound bus terminal as opposed to a regular bus stop (Yes, Greyhound has of few of these left). These terminals usually have ticket counters that are open whenever buses are running because they want to be able to sell seats.

FYI, you went to all the wrong people for information initially. It's not the guard's job to know the bus schedules and fellow passengers are usually concerned about making their bus, not anyone else's. The correct answer would have been the ticket counter. I believe these bus stations also have boards with the departure/arrival times & gates.

Also, your times listed are all over the place: 2:35, 6, 3:40 and 2:30 in that order. How could you be turned away from a 2:30 bus if you arrived at the terminal at 2:35?

Lastly, did you get to your destination on a later bus? If you did then sorry for the inconvenience, but they've done their job despite overbooking; airlines do this all the time with impunity.

If you didn't travel with them then you are entitled to a refund of your purchase price. Usually transportation companies have a refund procedure. Follow that and if they still don't refund your money (assuming you didn't use their service) then sue them in small claims court. Did the tickets come with a no refund policy?

It will say so on the ticket. If it does then you should be issued a credit for future travel. Of course if you didn't want to do business with them again after this, that would be understandable and you might stand a chance on getting your money back with the aforementioned suggestions. When dealing with these people play nice to get the best results.

If you're irate you're more likely to turn off people and hit wall after wall. While it's no guarantee, if you treat them as someone who can help you rather than screwed you, you stand a better chance to get that refund.

I got on a Greyhound on Saturday 12/5 and it also happened to be my birthday. I started in Lagrange, GA to Indianapolis. The whole trip was absolutely horrible! No one seems to know anything about customer service and they (management and drivers) act like they want...

I took the greyhound yesterday, IT WAS TERRIBLE! From Chicago to St. Louis is 4 hours, the trip made numerous of stops so the trip was going to be 6 hours. I'm fine with the trip being longer because it is a bus, speed limits are different and they make stops. My trip...

Greyhound Bus Service Review

Taking bus from Ithaca to NYC. First off, bus was late almost an hour. Everyone waiting and no one to ask for help. Called customer service. They didn't know where the bus was and couldn't help. So the gave me another number. On hold for another 25 minutes. Gave up once bus finally came. Once on bus, outlets not working. Wifi not working. No wonder all the bad reviews. Never again Greyhound

Greyhound in Boston, Massachusetts - Deplorable customer service

Agreed, every time I have an issue with buying tickets on Greyhound's website it is an absolute nightmare to try to navigate through customer service... 30+ minute wait times, only to be transferred to another line with a longer wait time & ultimately no resolution... I don't think I've ever actually had anything solved successfully through their customer service, ever. I always just give up and resort to another transportation option. Most recently none of my reward discounts were working or reducing fare cost. So far close to 2 hours trying to resolve the issue on the phone and not at all closer to having a ticket with the correct reduction. Grey Hound is probably the worst company that I have ever had to do business with, but hey they are pretty much to only option for bus transportation since Fung Wah was shut down by the Feds. Fung Wah could be *** uncomfortable for a tall person like myself but god do I miss those $15 flat rate tickets, the minimal website that always worked & the drivers who were always on point.

It was so horrible I wouldn't refer my dog to get transferred from state to state by grayhound. Leaving Minnesota on Tuesday November the 11th 2014 our bus driver wiper blades went out on top of having a white out, we seat at a gas station waiting for help for God knows how long. So I finally make it to chicago bus terminal to only find out I missed my bus now I must wait 5 hours for the next....*** would be a understatement. The icing on my cake was the bus driver from Chicago to Detroit she was a rude unprofessional driver, I watch her talk to innocent passengers as if they were nothing, telling people to keep their conversation to a minimum, telling people that had headphones on their music was too loud coming out the headphones...I thought the express was straight through with maybe one stop, try 4 stops smh and the food stop was for her she said " I'm hungry I need something to eat" when did the ride become about her??? Fyi I'm still trying to get in touch with their corporate office to report her, never again will I ride the Greyhound over my dead body!!!!

Greyhound in Mount Laurel, New Jersey - Lousy overall service

First of all, the website did not work and the customer service answer line was NEVER answered during business hours. The company cares nothing about their users. If possible, avoid using Greyhound for any needs. I have used Greyhound many times over the years out of necessity, not due to their quality service. As an experienced rider, I warn you to avoid them if you want to avoid rudeness, inconsiderate drivers who are late and non-existent customer service. I wish you a good day and look forward to the day that a quality bus service decides to complete against Greyhound, so they will never be allowed to celebrate their second hundred years of lousy service.
