Greyhound in Waterford Township, Michigan - Customer Service is not for the Customer!

My daughter who is a MSU student bought a ticket online to come home December 15, 2012. When she arrived at the terminal there was no one there to print the ticket out and tag her luggage, the school kicks all the students out so that they can't go back to the Dorms and the driver gave her a hard time about getting on the bus. Ultimately he allowed her on with the condition to hold on to her credit card as collateral. First problem, the hours at the terminal and the hours online should be updated to reflect correct times, Second, as long as the bus is coming and going there should be someone to Assist customers with their luggage and tickets, Third, the driver should have the ability to pull up the passengers info on a laptop or computer located on the bus for just this reason, to verify that they did purchase a ticket, Fourth, what good is customer services if your not able to assist me only Mon thru Fri, if I can only reach someone during a certain day and time, then only run your buses during those days and times. I professional, competent and efficient company that offer services to the public should always be available to their customers. Greyhound is not knew to this industry, no company provides perfect service all the time, but if your well known as they are you would think they would have a much more efficient way of actually providing CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Greyhound in Columbia, Missouri - GREY HOUND ***

Grey hound over booked on purpose and took my $200.00. I arrived to Grey hound bus station in Columbia Missouri a hour before my bus was due to *** like the website stated to do. When I arrived to the bus station it was un organized and chaotic. There was a crowd of people outside as well as inside. I found the what seemed to be the information desk. A heavier set hispanic lady and a heavier set older white lady sat at the counter. I waited behind a lady that was telling them how she had no way to go to Saint Louis to try and catch the next bus that her "old truck" wasn't going to make it. They told her too bad and she sat down. I walked up to the counter and stated to the women that I had never rode the bus before and wasn't quiet sure what I was supposed to do. The white lady asked me where I was going I told her Columbia to Saint Louis, Saint Louis to Clarksville TN. She stated "wrong answer." My reaction was "excuse me?" The lady then stated "wrong answer" informing me that the bus had been over booked by at lease 15 people and they were all currently at the station and did not have a seat on the bus, including myself. The lady also stated that the bus was running late like always and even if I did have a seat it I wouldn't make my second bus that took me to Clarksville, TN. The lady told me my only option was to try and drive to Saint Louis and "hope" to have a seat on that bus but I would have to hurry because that bus doesn't run on schdule either. Then the lady informed me that I would probably be in the same boat getting home and get stranded in Clarksville, TN. I asked her how this could happen since I purchased my ticket online a month ago and paid $200. She told me that the Greyhound.com was trying to put the bus statin in Columbia out of buisness and that the tickets sold in the actual station were the only ones guarenteed a seat due to thats the only way to keep station in business and needed, and that they knew the station/website was over selling tickets and that they do it all the time. So I asked the lady if she was going to give me my $200 back so I can find an alternative way due to it being the holidays and I had bought my ticket a month in advance? She stated no that I needed to call the number she wrote down and that Greyhound would refund my money and it would probably take a long time. My first and last experience of the Grey hound service is very un organized and a scandal. I hope the mega bus puts grey hound out of business.

Greyhound in Cape Town, Western Cape - Mrs. Munsamy S

I took a Bus on the 26th November 2012 at 14h00 from George to Durban. First experience was the bus driver who was rude and had no hospitality. Second was my journey was prolong as it never reached destiny as promised on the ticket and thirdly was now the one that really made me lost confidence in Greyhound is that at the point of destination my luggage was given to someone else that jump off at Grahams-town the drivers couldn't explained to me how this was possible after the did attached tickets the bags. This i think is really poor checking and controlling at destination points when passengers jump off because if tags is attach to the bags with numbers which the owner have also a number and the driver must confirm that your number and the number on the bag correspond then only you can take the bag but I guess that this was really never exercise correctly. Now my luggage is gone and no one can tell me what goes for what I will never travel with Greyhound again and will make it my duty to give bad publication about Greyhound service delivery that they do not exercise their Batho Pelo Principles correctly.

Greyhound in Ellicott City, Maryland - No accountability or organization

My scheduled departure from Frederick to Pittsburgh was 7:45, and I arrived early as suggested on the ticket. Once the bus arrived, only 4 of the 15 passengers (all of whom had tickets) were allowed seats on the bus. We, the remaining 11 passengers, were told that an overflow bus was coming, but it never arrived. All subsequent buses were booked full, and when my station attendant, Brandan (who was the only helpful interaction I had with my entire experience with Greyhound) tried to contact HQ to try to get the remaining 11 passengers on an alternative form on transportation, HQ repeatedly hung up and could not provide us with the timely transportation to our destinations we had paid for. I purchased an online ticket, which Brandan said he could not refund at the ticket window (therefore, I was instructed by Brandan to completely my refund request through this link and not through the mail-in process, which he said was on a different system), but I have the marking on my ticket that shows that I showed up at the station on time, as instructed by the company, and it was not due to events that I could control that I was not allowed to board the bus. I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of accountability throughout my experience with Greyhound and do not plan on using the service ever again. Megabus is both less expensive and infinitely more reliable.

GREYHOUND :WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & STEALS YOUR MONEY

This is the worst travel company with the worst customer service ever. Call customer service to get help in choosing time, but they clearly said they don't know, and i should do it by myself. I end up selecting a time that was not to what i was looking for. Next day call them, then told to buy another ticket with the correct time, then only i will get refund. Everytime i call they said it's been processed but in fact it wasn't, until i had to file a dispute with my bank. Again, they refunded the wrong amount of money in fact much less. Greyhound.... worst customer service, rude assistant, thieves

Greyhound: worst customer service ever!

Greyhound.com has the poorest customer service I've ever seen. My fiancee and me were planning to visit NYC, so we decided to go by bus and bought two round-trip tickets online. Unfortunately, we had to cancel it due to health issues. But when we tried to cancel our tickets and get a refund (or a partial one), we discovered that most of the tickets are non-refundable, non-exchangeable (or you must pay a fee of 15$ per ticket if you want to and they finally allow it) and you only know about that when you print your own ticket, not before your purchase! Nothing during the purchase warns you about that terrible conditions. And if you try to contact them via email or phone, it is useless, because they will send you to your next Greyhound office (mine is 30 miles away). There they will say to you that there is nothing you can do in order to refund your ticket, maybe (and they said MAYBE) they would change it for another trip to same location BUT you will have to pay 15$ per trip. Summing up: if you want a refund, forget it. If you want to change in advance the dates of your trip, and the price of your ticket was 30$, you will have to pay 15$ extra to change them. Before using Greyhound again, next time I will rent a car. Cheaper, reliable and better customer service than this company.

Greyhound Buslines - Website designed to waste your time

I tried to purchase a ticket online, and the schedule listed various prices including an online purchase price. It was a bit cheaper than buying it at the window, so I went ahead and went through the steps of buying it online. Once I reached a certain point, it said that the ticket couldn't be purchased online, and to purchase it at the terminal or call an 800 number. I tried the 800 number, only to receive a recording asking me if I wanted bus schedules or wished to file a baggage claim. There was no option to speak to a live person. It did provide a toll number for "customer service". Tried THAT number, and after being on hold for at least 10 minutes, reached someone who told me basically she couldn't tell me why I couldn't buy it online, but mentioned that I could buy it over the phone for an extra fee. So basically it appears they've set up their website to waste people's time, lure them into calling a number that doesn't provide any service, and then prod them into calling a toll number which wastes their minutes. The frosting on the cake is the "offer" to buy a ticket over the phone for an "extra fee". Are these people TRYING to lose business?
