Greyhound - Bus Service Review from Bellevue, Washington

Coming from Florida bus over an hour late to pick us up. When driver arrives he looks at my ticket and tells me he's not gonna make it Gainesville in time for me to switch into the bus heading to Atlanta, Ga. So he walks off goes into the store without trying to help assist me in what's best and told me he don't know what to tell me here I'm standing in an unfamiliar place (truck stop at that). I get on the phone with customer service and the guy tells me to get onto the bus get off in Tallahassee and I will be transferred to another bus, but once I arrive I'm told I would have to wait till 1:15 pm the very next afternoon. I was pissed I missed work and didn't make it home to my kids as expected. I would definitely not be riding on a grey hound anymore neither would I reccomend anyone to ride. Mega bus served me well they were on time and showed concern!

Review from Walnut Creek, California

I am posting my concern here as a warning for all people who plan to use Grayhound Bus Lines in the future. My brother is in Birmingham, AL, waiting for me to buy his ticket online for the bus, when he was asked to leave the premises if he doesn't have a ticket already. His phone is now dead and has no way to receive a confirmation number to even get into the building to get his ticket at the desk. I have now been on the phone with customer service and the corporate offices, just be told, " I don't know what to tell you" I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of customer support with this company! I am still unable to get in touch with the Birmingham location and my brother is still sitting outside, alone and worried, as am I!

Greyhound - Service Failure Review from Mobile, Alabama

Failed to reach my destination, no refund, had to battle for a voucher, finally recieved that and now they have refused to honor the voucher. Greyhound devised a scenario where they collect my money but never provide the promised service. The definition of scam.

- we paid for ticket, didn't get ride or refund

Paid for round trip ticket for 17 year old daughter. She was unable to get home because a portion of her ride home was just cancelled -- driver called in sick, no bus for TWO DAYS. They tried to exploit us by having us pay a big fee to put her on a different Greyhound bus that they said couldn't be part of her ticket because it was owned by a different person (scratch head). I had to drive to pick her up 2.5 hours away, they took her about half way home only. When I tried to get at least a partial refund, because I paid for a service they flat out did not provide, no one would help me. I kept being given phone numbers that led to automated *** where no one answers. The ticket agents in two towns refused refunds. The number they gave was a recording that said to get refund from ticket agent. How is this legal that you can pay for a ticket, have them not give it to you, then refuse to refund your money? This feels like theft, the police just said to call the BBB, who has already lodged a ton of complaints with this company.

3 hours late.

Drivers rude. Miss the other buses. Didn't get the meal breaks. My daughter's boyfriend had to pay $60.00 for 3 transfers Because of greyhound being late and we missed the bus. Telling the people to get ready to board in 15 minutes and having to wait like 45 minutes to board. Ended up daughter's boyfriend paying almost $200.00 for a diffent bus co. to take us to some place else and having someone pick up up in N.H. Having the bus brake down and having to go back to the bus station. Greyhound really sucks and will never use them again!

Bumped off a bus with no alternatives given for transportation

My daughter and her friend had tickets out of Baltimore today. They arrived 20 minutes early in order to make the bus. They stood in line to await boarding. They (and others) were told that there was no room for them on the bus even though they had tickets for the bus. They have now been told there is a nearly 5 hour wait for the next available bus although other buses will be traveling the same route. No apology. No offer for compensation. No alternative options given. Thus far, I have been on hold for 15 minutes waiting for anyone to answer their customer "service" line.

No one would answer phones so I can buy ticket, and the bus ride was horrible from MD to Tn and on top of that the driver for the over night was all over the road, very rude. Now I'm trying to call again to get ticket for return and no one will answer phone. I think I will right to the papers and the better business burrow and also make complaints. I made complaint to Greyhound but nothing was done. I think people should be made go to a class for attude. I shouldn't have to pay for someone else's bad day. Children that ride a bus should also be with an adult no matter what if not grayhound should provide someone. We are little people so grayhound doesn't care about the state of their buses or drivers.

My trip from Florida to Oregon

I am a very unhappy customer. Electric plugs not working so can't charge my device. Your internet is not working so can't use WiFi. The seat I am in moves forward and back and I'm not talking about its reclining position. The seat literally moves when it should be secured to the floor. The restrooms were discussing for a bus that was supposedly cleaned before we got on. The interior of the bus was very dirty and looked like it had not been wiped down and cleaned for ages. The driver on the trip from Baton Rouge Louisiana to Dallas Texas was not friendly and in my opinion down write rude. The air conditioning seemed to stop and the driver did nothing till about everyone on the bus complained. The air that is above your seat did not work at all any where on the bus. The # on the inside of the bus in front by the driver is: LA86403. I am on disability and felt like your staff in every station was not considerate to me. I have traveled Greyhound a few times and this trip has been the worst so far by a long shot. I will be calling customer relations for a refund on my tickets, that is 2 tickets because my caregiver/partner is with me. If actions are not taken I will be contacting an attorney and getting a hold of The Americans with Disability Services. In Boumont, TX at another stop of yours apparently you could not use debit or credit card so was not able to eat there. Nothing but trouble in Houston where we were not supposed to go in the first place. Dallas was a horror story nothing but thieves and people who didn't even belong there. People outside of the smoking area trying to get money, cigarettes and wanting to be let in the gate. There should have been way more security in the station in Dallas. I really thought I was going to get robbed but at least my caregiver was there to watch my back when I should of only had to had station security. Went to eat at the restaurant in the bus station and the people in there said they were cleaning and would not take my order but took orders and cooked for people of there same skin color so was not able to eat. Bus 6616 apparently we are late so now we we don't have a break in Trinidad. Because of other issues I've mentioned earlier I have not been able to eat except for breakfast in Amarillo, TX. Now a 6 hour layover in Denver. Driver started acting really different after we got out of Denver. Stopped bus a couple of times and walked behind bus and seemed to stay there doing nothing. After he got back on bus his speech was slurred and started driving out of the ordinary. Speeding up and slowing down, driving over the lines. I can't remember how many times he drove over the right hand side and running over the wake up lines on the road. On our last break stop, leaving he was driving on the wrong side of the road. When we got to Salt Lake City Utah he couldn't even tell us where or when to catch our next bus when he should of. All other drivers did. He said that we were getting back on the bus that we got off of and that was wrong. We had priority boarding that we bought in Denver that was supposed to be priority all the way to Portland. When we got to Salt Lake City we did not get our priority boarding and had to sit in an area of the bus that we did not want and felt very unsafe. Had to smell the toilet and some child who had *** his pants. The bus we got on was disgusting and filthy and should of been taken out of the fleet years ago. The people we had to sit by were gross, rude and loud. This put a lot of stress on me and felt very ill. The driver On this disgusting bus called himself Goz and didn't even know all the exits because the bus was so old. So it even gets better! Go to use restroom on bus maybe a 2 hours out of Salt Lake City and the toilet is full. Really, put us on a bus with a toilet that must not have been cleaned or drained before you put people on it. Now can't use the restroom for I'm in fear of my health. The smell on the bus is unbearable it is like a cesspool. The department of health is also going to get this email. There must not be any air conditioning system on this bus or it just does not work. According to my app on my cell phone it is 79 degrees on the bus and rising. This is no kind of atmosphere for any one especially children the elderly or someone with health conditions like me. Now we have to get back on this cesspool of a bus and smell *** all the way to the next stop. The bus is extremely hot and the driver is an ***. We got to Boise Idaho and switched buses and the bus was better. Then in Ontario OR and had to switch bus drivers. We get on the road and then have to stop again in Stanfield OR and once again have to switch to another driver. This woman is making us wait here for no good reason for 45 minutes and is rude as he'll. I am trying to get back to Portland Oregon, I have been on the bus since Florida and it has taken me 4 days. With all the *** this bus company has put me through I want a full refund of my $495.50. I will be contacting The Americans with Disability Services for violating the Americans With Disability Acts. I also will be contacting The Department of Health for the filth I had to endure throughout this entire ordeal. I am also contacting the Better Business Bureau with this email. On top of all this none of your drivers would control the disgusting filthy loud obnoxious people on the bus. These people were talking trash using foul language even talking about what crimes they would like to do. This is very irresponsible for your bus company to be running like this. In my opinion you need to go out of business. I have never felt so much fear in my life as I did while on your busses or in your stations. I thought I was done with this but no. Now this bus driver has not done this route before and we were in Hood River Oregon and she messed up not stopping in The Dalles Oregon. So she is turning around and going back to Hood River. Now in the approximation of Hood River and the driver does not where the station is. I had to go and do Google maps and direct her from there. Now heading back West to Portland Oregon. I am now going to give her directions to the Portland Grey Hound Station. I am from Portland and have done this route so know how to get there the way the Grey Hound bus would do, also I have it on Google maps navigation. After all I have been through I am still willing to help. Shows you the kind of person I am. You better refund all of my money.

Why dint you take a airplane? It more than likely would have been much cheaper and faster.I can get tickets round trip from Milwaukee to fort myers for only 300 bucks. With airfares so cheap right now why take the bus? Also if the bus driver went outside to the back of the bus then came back in and acted drunk or high driveing dangerous why dint you call 911 and report that instead of putting your and everyones life on the bus in danger?

Greyhound Bus Lines Guilty of Subhuman Treatment of its Customers-Clean Up Your Act!

Let me first start out by saying, yes before I traveled I was aware of Greyhounds bad reputation. I always like to give things a chance before bashing them. In this case, it was the worst decision I could have possibly made. My route was from San Antonio, TX- Myrtle Beach, SC a total of 30 hours with three bus transfers. The list of issues started in Houston, TX when our driver decided they weren't going to show up for their job. That put the passengers back 30 minutes until some random Greyhound worker showed up to drive the route. When she arrived, she literally SWATTED passengers out of her way without saying a word. Let me explain, her behavior was common amongst the workers towards the passengers. Midway through our departure the bus I was riding on had its exterior luggage compartment door open. We were on a highway driving....with the luggage door opened. Our driver pulled over, quickly shut the door, and didn't even bother to concern herself with whether or not luggage had fallen out. Stowaways- yes believe it or not a woman and her daughter got onto the bus with no tickets. On our next stop this was discovered when paying customers got onto the bus and had nowhere to sit. Our driver decided she would then proceed to stand up in the front of the bus and threaten everybody with an hour of sitting at this stop if these people didn't exit the bus. If you ask me it was pretty obvious who these two people were considering the little girl was LAYING IN THE AISLE of the bus for the first few hours of the ride! New Orleans- we were herded off the bus without any instruction of what was happening and when we needed to be back. This was how all stops worked. Every stop you asked the bus driver, they barked orders at you. Upon leaving the bus there was a worker unloading luggage from the bottom. Confused, some customers approached him to see if they needed to grab their luggage. He proceeded to scream, yes scream- "NEW ORLEANS ONLY, NEW ORLEANS, NEW ORLEANS!" He was absolutely crazy and nobody wanted to get near him to grab their luggage. A few hours later we arrived at our next destination in the dark. Most of the bus was sleeping but our bus driver made sure to wake us all up the worst possible way he could. The driver flipped on the lights and immediately yelled, "Wake up!" he basically threw us all off of the bus telling us to hurry up because the lightening outside would hit us. He also threw in a few derogatory remarks to the Hispanic passengers saying, "He knew some of them speak English." I felt like I was being transported on a prison bus with how everyone was treated. Last stop before my final destination Atlanta, Georgia. This was by far the worst part of the trip. When we arrived at 4 AM our luggage was taken off of the bus. My luggage never got unloaded, because somewhere in the trip it was taken out from under the bus when it should not have been. I asked the man who was unloading if he could look one more time. I was pleading, I only had the clothes on my back, my bag had everything in it. He looks at me after repeatedly trying to walk away and says, "***, I don't have time for this, it's too *** hot out here." He then slams open all the doors yelling at me, "See? Nothing! Now don't walk away I just want you to see there's nothing here." At this point I was in tears after 24 hours of *** and subhuman treatment getting yelled out by some Greyhound worker in front of dozens of people because his company lost my bag. The list goes on, it's too much to write on one review. Greyhound, there is absolutely no excuse for the treatment of people this way. This company should be ashamed and embarrassed in the way it practices business on an everyday basis. Customers are treated with no dignity and it is a violation of basic human treatment. Greyhound needs to be exposed for the way it treats its customers, this can not be tolerated. By the way, it has been 3 days and I don't have my luggage and with Greyhounds reputation I don't expect to ever get it back. I will continue to fight this whether or not I receive my luggage. I invite fellow passengers to document and record their poor treatment and turn it over to social media, the press, and executives of Greyhound Lines.

Worst Customer Experience Ever in Dallas Texas Lamar St.

Today July 15,2014 Our bus arrived at 4:45 am in the Dallas bus terminal. The bus driver stated that there was a 2 hour layover, for us to get our own bags and have them with us. (I had never done that before. The baggage handlers probably were on break.) And that there was a McDonalds on the next block to eat and wait if we wanted. Myself and a Military customer named Wilson. That is all I got from him because of his name on his backpack. Me and Wilson ate, talked about military life and stations we had been and then came back to terminal. Mind you, bus driver stated that, and did not state that if we leave the building that our luggage will be searched, and no signs posted to that fact. We enter and someone only wearing a reflective vest demands that our carry on/luggage need to be searched. I said, and who are you? He did not look like a Greyhound employee, he barks that he is security. Now I did see 2 guys in black uniforms that say security. I asked where does that state that and why wasn't that told to us when we are on the bus or on the windows, etc. He was short, and also his temper. He states that everyone that leaves or enters has to have this done. But while he is saying all this, people are coming in and going around. I told him to have at it and he expected me to pick it up and hand it to him. I told him have at it again. He looked thru it and wanded me. I move to the side with disgust, because me and Wilson are traveling on the same bus. Then this little man yells at me that if I had a problem or an attitude. More than once. I just ignored him and did not even acknowledge him and he went back to his little round table. Now my friend Wilson, which is in the military but not in uniform asks the same question because he asked politely, that he did not look like a security person, like the others, so he requested a supervisor. This little man that comes in and yells so everyone could hear him that he is the SUPERVISOR. This person started reading the riot act, Wilson asked several times to lower his voice and stated that he wanted to talk to supervisor, this kid no more than 21 years of age, starts yelling and of course security is standing behind him now and listening. He asks for his name because all he has is a reflective vest, no name tags. This so called supervisor refuses and does not give him a name and if he wanted it to get it from the head of security supervisor that comes in at 8 am. He starts yelling at Wilson and states that they have to check for guns and weapons because people are being killed right outside the door. Now, 1. that is unprofessional and idiotic 2. to scare the customers that it is unsafe outside. 3. He states that if Wilson wanted to launch a complaint that the security supervisor comes in at 8. Wasn't he supposed to be the supervisor? And Wilson asks again for his name. 4. The poor of an excuse to me starts to yell at Wilson that if he does not let them search that he was to be escorted outside, then he snaps his fingers and tells the security guy to throw him out. More than once. Security guy does not move and all this drama in the bus station. THEN to top it off, he said that he served in the military and that Wilson should be ashamed of himself for acting that way. That he should know better. Since he was in the military, I almost blew it. NO one in the military or ex-military person would cuss out a fellow military or demean him like this guy did. Clearly he did not serve because he did not have respect. The security persons that was wearing the uniform, heard that and he just turned around and left. And this supervisor boy just laughs it off and walks off. To top it off, the little wanna be security wander and luggage checker checks his bag and knocks over his drink and drops his military back pack on the ground after he searches it. To me on purpose. I just grabbed Wilson's arm and said let's go over here. This was a disgraceful attitude and demeaning to a person that served in the military. And to say that he was in the military? I saw people shaking their heads in disbelief and Greyhound allows this? So I tried calling in to launch a complaint. I get a girl named Billy, she asks what do I want? I state I want to launch a complaint, I started to ask a question and I know she was there then she just transfers me to la la land then after several rings, the recording of the business hours from 8a to 5p and it is 3:23 pm? WTF? I called 4 more times and get the same recording, I called the other bus station to see if I had the right number and he gives me a different one and that phone number states after so many rings that the wireless customer is not working. WTF? No one answers the phone. I am at a loss of what to do, this is happening everyday? I nor the military should be mistreated like, or how Wilson was humiliated in front of everyone so this wanna be supervisor could feel his little head swell. I will write to the corporate office again and will write letters to the parent company. Now I know they have security cameras not sure on voice, and no names. I cannot get ahold of anyone so most likely the security tapes will just become missing or no one will read this and it will continue. This is the US not some backwoods country that this stuff happens. I want names and I am so disgusted with those so called security people there and to let it continue. We are the Paying customers, they are not there to demean people and yell at them.
