Don't travel with Greyhound

My 73 year old father arrived to his destination without his luggage. He was given a number to call to check on his luggage; each time he called he was told something different. Finally after about a month he was told that if a file isnt initiated prior 30 days at a local bus station then Greyhound isn't liable- which he was never provided this information until now. The customer service is very bad as in the staff provided different information and was very inconsiderate. I would never recommend traveling Greyhound to ANYONE!

Greyhound - They egnore your claim

From 4 package I send, I got one back. I go back another one after three months and that one was opened and somethings were gone. I never received the other two. My better items were in those two. I think there is a group of employee doing this and nobody watching them.

Greyhound - Extreme change mid route causing hardship

Details
I started in Hammond, IN today at 7:45 am storing an 18”x”18”x24” well taped box of clothing in underneath storage compartment. Also stored a med sz plastic bag. (Too big for in passenger area). This I did at Hammond as well as in Indianapolus, IN. No questions asked! However, when resdy to leave on same bhus from Louisville, KY, I noticed baggage attendant had removed both my items, stating i must have a “special pass” requiring my original ticket (which had alteady been taken in Indianapolis) in order to put this luggage back on bus. After the woman who’d been talking abruptly to my race of people, but not her own, and embarrassing the *** out of me causing an inappropriate scene in public, the driver finally said “get in the bus, we’re leaving”, and agreed to put box in underneath storage. I want an apology from Greyhound and to make it right, or I’m taking this to SOCIAL MEDIA with proven encouragement to make it go viral! Im 68 year old retired man and do not appreciate this behavior! Steve Kemp. 615-828-0540

It's best never to put anything under the bus. Once I put a big box full of hundreds of dollars of magazines under the bus and the box didn't show up at my destination until 3 days later, and the box had been ripped open and half of the magazines were missing.

There were so many of them that whoever stole them must have looked through the offerings and chose the ones that they liked the most because they simply didn't want to carry the whole heavy box with them. I never received any compensation from Greyhound for all of these magazines.

Several Hundred Dollars worth of them stolen! Never under bus again Doggie!

Well, try to think positively. Maybe some really poor family who didn't have anything got your belongings and are grateful for them and are making good use of them.Maybe they ad been praying to God for a miracle and then God decided to magically transport your luggage to their front door, make a loud knocking on the door, and then disappearing back into Heaven.

----- I would suggest that next time you ride the Grey Hound, that you just send all of your luggage by Federal Express to the address you are going to.

I wouldn't recommend UPS, because if the knock at your door and you aren't home, they make you travel all the way to their office to pick up your packages. And please, please, please, don't be stupid and send your luggage through the United States Postal Service.

Please tell me more about your adventure. What city did you originate from and what was your destination?

Did you have any interesting characters sit next to you, or did you have any interesting conversations or couldn't help but hear any strange conversations? What did you do at the 45-minute McDonalds meal stop. I used to always just stay on the bus. People would think that I didn't have any money and would offer me some of their Mickey D's, but I would politely decline.

Please tell us more about your journey. I'm sure that everyone on here will be able to relate to what you went through and will probably get a good laugh at it. Thank You for telling us more, Friend. I remember the last Greyhound Bus trip I took, my ticket cost me $149.

I handed the girl $150 and she "Forgot" to give me my change. Many people riding Greyhound would have been too Cuckoo to even notice, but I spoke up and got my change back.

Greyhound - Very Horrible

1.0
Details
Lost my luggage. Bus late. Discriminated against. I am disable and did not get priority rights. I was not assisted off and on the bus properly. I was treated very rudely in Nashville, Tennessee at baggage check-in by the ticket agent. Very unclean buses and terminal bathrooms. Not enough leg space where I sat in handicap seating. I definitely want to be compensated for my things that were lost. My trip was taken August 14, 2018 from Huntsville, Alabama to Cleveland, Ohio. I will never and I mean never take the Greyhound Bus to any country in the United States and I would not recommend anyone else to use this terrible service. I may have to bring legal action against this company, because I felt discriminated against due to my disability.

My daughter and disabled granddaughter have been there since Thursday nite 9 pm. Bus did not come for 1 am transfer.

Slept on floor for 2 nites, 2nd nite bus too full for us...so now we are in homeless shelter as weekend buses too full for us. Station manger told us he'd get a hotel due to my daughter...but didn't. Made to feel like we were lepers or something.

Oh spent the morning in the ER as I recently had back surgery and sitting/sleeping on metal and on concrete floor..I could not even pick up my bags. Why don't they at least have a small room with cots for such problems?

Well, one good thing about traveling on Greyhound through nashville, there is a rescue mission right across the street from the terminal. but beware: the cold weather brings out the freaks!

Well, I'll have you know that once when i was in the Dallas, Texas Greyhound bus station awaiting a bus departing to Denver, I was sitting in line on the floor listening to my walkman and the lady must have thought that i looked like I was cuckoo or something, because she grabbed my hand and lead me to the front of the line for priority boarding for the disabled when it was time for the bus to leave. The whole Greyhound experience had made me look and feel like I was a mentally challenged person, I was disheveled and I felt like I was going crazy from my ordeal.

i didn't argue with the lady and was very pleased to be able to get on the bus first and grab the best seat in the house, the one kitty-korner to the driver, where you get to see the highway unfold in front of you as the bus goes down the road, and when they stop for McDonalds meal stops, you get to get off the bus first and be first in line in the store(amongst the Greyhound passengers anyway). I always would try real hard to stay clean on the Bus and to wipe my hands down often with the wet wipes that they dispensed in the bathroom. With all of the germs on the bus, you want to make sure that your hands are clean before you eat anything. It helped having a walkman and tapes along because many times you couldn't pick up any radio stations out in the middle of nowhere.

Also, you could drown out the idiots who would always get a bag of chips and smack really loud with their mouths open and keep making crinkling noises with the big. It was extremely irritating to have someone like that sitting behind you. I liked the TNM&O buses that we would ride from in parts of Texas, I thought that they wre better than Greyhounds were. Also, the Powder River buses in Wyoming were much nicer, as were the Jackrabbit Lines Buses in South Dakota.

I miss all of my wonderful Greyhound Adventures. I got to see and go to alot of beautiful, amazing places!
