My bus ticket was scheduled for departure on March 17th at 5:30am from Charlotte, NC.Since I live a distance from the bus station, I went there the day before at 4pm. For $8 i was told that I could store my suitcase up to 24 hours, I paid the $8 and waited overnight...

I had a friend who sent hundreds of dollars worth of magazines in boxes in the luggage compartment of the Greyhound Bus. When they got to their destination the boxes weren't there and didn't arrive until several days later.

Upon picking up the boxes my friend discovered that over half of the magazines had been stolen and the boxes had been ripped open.

The Greyhound people said that they boxes were probably opened by the security people who thought that the boxes were very suspicious because they weighed so much, so they had to cut them open to investigate. And that's probably when they saw all of the magazines inside and looked through them, and decided to keep half of them for themselves.

My son boarded a bus at the Lawrence Kansas bus bench, where the driver a black female who is one of the rudest people alive kept my sons drivers license and no one can contact the bus driver and she did not report her mistake so my son was then hassled the whole trip about boarding the bus. Wait for it it gets better, then in flagstaff they out him on a bus with a broken bahroom, he ask the driver if he could use the terminal bathroom before they left the driver said yes and he would wait. he driver then left without my son but with his bags. My son then had to sit in a bus terminal for 8 plus hours for the next bus. the flagstaff terminal supposedly called phoenix and told them to hold his bags. when he finally got to phoenix theh had lost the bag with all his clothes now my son is t6 states away woth no drivers license and no clothes I cannot wire him money because you need an id to pick up money, so he has been in his sames clothes for 3 days and these people lied to me they radioed the driver that left him and he didn't even answer. Don't ever use greyhound unless you are laking drama in your life, they need to be shut down what if this was a small child....wow

Greyhound - Lost Package and Luggage (Stolen) Never left Start location

Never will I ever use Greyhound Baggage and Shipping for my luggage again. I have served my Country over 30 years of Military Service and for something like this to happen right be for I deploy is senseless and selfish. I have contacted Greyhound two after I had mailed the items and no one told me I only had 30 day to file a claim out of all the 7 to 15 agency I spoke to not one until last week I still do not understand why there is not tracking device use to monitor this process. This shipment has not only cost me personal loss but a loss in the shipping and mailing system used by bus transportation.

My luggage of 2 bags was taken and checked by the Greyhound Agent in Missoula, MT on July 8, 2016 when I began my journey. One bag was returned to me at my destination (Columbus, GA) over a week after my arrival and I am still waiting for the return of my second bag. I...

5 years ago this *same* Missoula bus station lost my luggage. I checked in early and went to get something to eat, and when I was on board and watching the luggage being loaded, I didn't see my suitcase.

I disembarked and asked the lady who runs the place where my suitcase was, and was told, "Oh, it must have been put on the bus heading to Seattle." Turns out this lady's *** teenage son who didn't even work there was messing around in the baggage area, and that he "was just trying to help." I was assured my suitcase would be arriving at my destination probably before I even got there, and all would be A-OK. Wrong. I was blatantly LIED to, for the suitcase was not waiting for me, and it never arrived. Have never seen that suitcase again, which contained at least $700 worth of items.

And it was like pulling teeth getting Greyhound to honor their $250-maximum-lost-baggage payout. But I also blame that incompetent Missoula supervisor, who let an unauthorized non-employee mess with customers' luggage.

She should've been fired, as I made clear to Greyhound management.

I was travelling from Sault St Mario Ont to Ottawa ...the trip for Sault Ste Marie was just great ..Getting to Sudbury ...our luggage was transfer to another bus ..mind ended up in Toronto instead of Ottawa...it cost me 36.00$ dollars ...just leave the station come home and when they found it and another 18.00$ dollars to go get it ... The driver looked at me and couldn't care less...and there was senior ppl on the bus and he didn't even have a step for them ..no smile, and we ask for heat and he delected us ...I will fight to get that 36.00$ back ...and as for the driver he should have a better attitude and all of this happen April 07/2016 and going on April 08/2016.. Don't get me wrong i love Greyhound, but this was my WORST trip ever with them ...and at the amount of ppl in the bus there should of been 2 buses ...

Greyhound - Take Responsibility of your wrong doings!

2.0
Details
I recently experienced the worst Greyhound experience as of March 26 to today. My bus schedule trip was from Jacksonville, FL to Petersburg, VA and when we arrived to Fayetteville, NC , some of us were asked to board another bus headed to Petersburg ALTHOUGH my trip said we’d only be riding the same bus the whole trip. With the unknown bus switch, they failed to transfer the bags to the other bus. I was only given a claim ticket to get my bags in my final destination Petersburg, VA. Greyhound lost my luggage and gave me the ULTIMATE runaround when I tried to find the whereabouts of my luggage. I was given a useless tracer #, I contacted corporate, customer service SEVERAL times, and even all the greyhound terminals along the routes my bag could potentially be at. Finally when I contacted the Raleigh terminal myself, a man by the name of Charles Davis found my bag, kept me posted on the whereabouts of that bus and where he would place my bag on the bus so they could return it to me safely to Petersburg. He was a huge help going out of his way and no one else tried to do that. They didn’t care because it wasn’t their problem. I received my bag 1 day before my final trip day and I feel like I was robbed of my whole entire trip because you guys lacked taking the responsibility of losing my luggage. I shouldn’t have had to track down my luggage on my own when I contact Baggage customer service they should be taking care of that. Since my trip was a complete waste and I had absolutely nothing for duration of my trip, I contacted customer service to see if I could get some kind of ticket extension since my whole trip was a waste and the woman I spoke to (last name Osborne) said that I could talk to the “terminal manager” about getting a waiver of the $20 trip change because she didn’t have control over that. I felt it was only right because I got absolutely nothing but a measly sorry for all the trouble Greyhound caused with my baggage. This morning, March 31, I went to the Petersburg, VA station, discussed to the terminal Manager, Traci or whatever her name is, my whole entire situation and she had nothing but excuses as to why she couldn’t do it. “Oh well it’s passed the 24hrs for ticket change, and “Oh you paid with a debit card and “Oh you purchased your ticket online and not at the terminal”. How in the world could anyone even have the option to change their ticket within 24hrs when you guys (Petersburg terminal) close at 4:30PM?? All in all she didn’t care and didn’t try to do ANYTHING about it at all. She was quite rude and obviously I was not of her concern. You guy should definitely evaluate your employees because a lot of them are rude and unhappy at their job and take it out on the customers, which is unfair. It’s very unfortunate that this company does not make their customers a priority. Unfortunately, this trip was my last stop EVER with Greyhound Bus Lines.

The driver for the Cleveland bound bus leaving Columbus on November 1st 2014 at 5:10 am was extremely rude and unprofessional to put it mildly. I observed him deliberately intimidate and threaten two female passengers until they boarded the bus in tears and visibly shaken. I witnessed two of the baggage handlers exibit similar behavior. Obviously Greyhound management has no requirement or policy governing the behavior of Greyhound emloyees with regard to treating customers with respect. This location should be avoided during the night shift. Absolutely horrible. I will never ride another Greyhound.

I think I know which driver you are talking about. I had a similar guy from Cleveland to Indianapolis and he was extremely rude and yelling at some women and telling us that we were wasting his time.

He yelled at this one lady that was speaking on the phone saying she needed to quiet that *** because nobody wants to hear any of it. And the lady didnt even speak english.

He also told us that we were supposed to reach Indianapolis at a certain time but we were living in a fairy tale cuz that isnt going to happen. Extremely horrible guy.

Greyhound - Lost and probably stolen bags.

I am a commercial driver and have had to use greyhound more times than I care to remember to get to trucks and terminals. If I lost 1 single piece of freight, I'd be fired and likely sued. Greyhound has lost several of my bags during my miserable travels on their out dated and faulty equipment. Again, I'm a commercial driver. If my truck was leaking air at the rates their buses do, I would be shutdown by DOT. They have no respect for their passengers, no respect for our property and no respect for themselves. They have lost me as a customer for life. I don't care if a plane ticket is twice as much. Greyhound needs to be shutdown permanently! This company hires dangerous drivers in dangerous equipment and their baggage handlers steal and destroy passenger property. Someone needs to look at their CSA scores as well. A joke of a company.

A riders guide.for greyhound (the reality of it) 1. Choose any other option. If you can avoid traveling with them believe me its worth missing out. You can expect delays from broken bus or no bus driver or worse. And a plethura of non stop confusion and backtalking. 2....

Greyhound Filthy Stations

On May 24, 2012 I left out of Holland, Michigan on Indian Traila arrived in Benton Harbor, Michigan 5 minutes before station closed. Entered to use restroom where their was excessive dried *** on the only toilet and no soap. Only 2 half benches available outside to sit amongst stinky ashtrays and smokers. Then boarded an Indian Trail bus to Kalamazoo, Michigan where again the station was filthy. No running water but yet soap. Got on Greyhound bound for Jackson, Michigan driver was totally rude. Ignored all questions by passengers. I am a disabled passenger had made prior arrangements yet he ignored my request for early boarding and help with carry on baggage, customer had to help. Also he refused to take checked baggage from the Indian Trails bus so I ended up with hauling my luggage to the station to use the bathroom.
