Greyhound does not refund money

I purchased a ticket on June 3rd 2011, online and for whatever reason the ticket would not print. I tried their reprint option and ticket would not print. I called them and they gave me my option to travel... buy another ticket and request a refund. I was very upset as they had already drafted my account and I needed to travel that day to Dallas. I mailed my request for a refund Monday the 6th and to this day I have not received my refund. I type this complaint as most people have no other travel option, and their complete disregard to me, and I'm sure many others has been very upsetting. I just hope another bus company comes along so competition will make them give us, their customers the respect we deserve.

During a recent three week trip around the country on Greyhound I had some fascinating experiences. For one, I agree the Tulsa station is a stinking pit!

Horrible attitude toward customers. I had to go in and out of there twice to do what I needed to do. BOTH times were the same... just mean-spirited, nasty people.

And, that's the least of the issues I had... more to be written.

Greyhound in Pharr, Texas - Where is my SON!

Unbelievable *** – this company! I sent my 15 year old son via Greyhound to visit his family in New York from Texas for the summer. He's hitting four transfers on a 3 day trip and his cell phone broke. I'm worried he didn't make the transfers. His mom is pregnant and stressed out beyond belief for her son's safety. I assumed I could just call Greyhound customer support to ask for help in finding him and not one f'n employee gave my thoughts the time of day. I called several Greyhound customer service reps here in the US and in Columbia (outsourced call center) to get help and they all stated verbatim the same ***: "Sorry sir, we can't do anything to locate your son. Here is the number to the next bus station; ask them to announce his name over the PA system." The problem with this BS solution is that my son doesn't hear too well. When I asked them to just call the bus driver they refused. Greyhound Corporate (a gal with the initials CB) even said it would be better to call the police department because they might have better luck finding him – unbelievable this company. As of right now I have no idea where my son is and more importantly if he's ok. I will never use Greyhound again. It would have been much better to spend the extra dollars on a plane ticket. If anything happens to my son I will file a law suit on this dilapidated and malfunctioning company for not having adequate procedures in place to locate passengers in case of emergencies. I hate companies that talk to customers by the book and outsource their customer service centers; nobody ever says "let me see what I can do" anymore and it's very difficult to understand English speakers with thick accents, especially if you're making the call from a busy area.

Seriously? Why would you send your underage son alone on a bus that takes 3 days?

It's your responsibility, not the bus line! Also, why on earth wouldn't you fly him there?

You sent your minor alone on a 1500+ mile bus trip? It's not the company's fault that they can't send out the military to look for your son!

The P.A. suggestion is all they can really do.

My parents would not have put me on a DIRECT FLIGHT alone at fifteen. I hope you know by now your son is safe, but the company is not at fault in the slightest.

No offense, but are you kidding me? Why is Greyhound responsible for your son's safety?

If he doesn't hear well, is carrying a broken cell phone, and his mother is a pregnant/ anxious mess, why on earth would you put him on a bus ALONE for a 1,500 mile road trip? If anything happens to your son, shame on you and his mother for expecting someone else to supervise his travels!

Don't use Greyhound Bus lines there the worse *** bus lines out there trust me you have a better chance at driving or taking the airlines!!! I never recieved my tickets in the mail, they say online that you can purchase a kids ticket but you cant,so that you have to call them & pay an extra $100.00!!!! You deal with the rudest people ever that talk to you & shaow you that you are nothing & mean nothing to them like as if we DON'T PAY THERE CHECKS!!!!! But when you get irritarted they hang up on you & or give you someone who you can't understand. What they need to understand is because of (us the people) Greyhound that's how you get paid!

Greyhound--Horrible

bought a 60 day pass to visit family and friends in the United States. It was expensive but I thought it would be cheaper than driving. It takes three times as long to get anywhere on the Greyhound. The employees are dirty and ignorant (especially in the smaller towns) it is as if they have absolutely NO supervision. I have seen customer service reps take personal calls on their cell phones while customers were waiting in line. The buses are outdated and filthy. Even after the buses are "Cleaned" there is still dust everywhere and stains on the seats. The air on the bus is a combination of roach spray, air freshener, ***, *** and that blue stuff in the toilet. On the new buses the Internet seldom worked and there were few working outlets. They all had the same "low" air quality. There was midnight entertainment on the bus. There are NO camera on the bus. It is very unsafe. Every night people were stealing or "fist" fighting especially in "urban" areas". I have never seen such beast mentalities in my life. The "Urban" bus drivers were amazingly unprofessional they were either on their cell phones or had head sets on listening to music while driving through heavy traffic. My biggest memory I have is the respiratory and eye infection I picked up while riding the Greyhound. Which had me bedridden for over a week.

Second time in a row I've contracted eye infections riding GH passing through Atlanta on south east runs.

Shame there isn't a website travelers could post contacted diseases or infections after traveling. And with whom and what route was taken and stops/lay overs where made.

That could be a highly useful tool. Not only for public safety but for marketing purposes as well.

The best way to get back at Greyhound is simply never do business with them again. I haven't used their horrible service in over 5 years b/c my last experience with them was awful. Trust me, book ahead and fly or take the train; it's more than worth it.

Greyhound in Jonesville, Virginia - Sold bus ticket for bus that never arrived.

I bought a one way bus ticket from Greyhound on June 1st for a trip from London, KY to Grand Rapids Michigan. London doesn't have a station so I traveled to Bristol TN to purchase the ticket as there on-line and telephone assistance could not accomplish the task. The bus was to depart the Burger King in London, KY at 8:05 A.M. I arrived at 7:30 A.M. and after waiting two hours, called Greyhounds Customer Service. Reached an individual that could not speak English very well but struggled thru and was told the bus was late. The bus would arrive but he could not tell me when. At 10:30 it was evident that the bus was not coming so my husband drove me to Lexington ,KY the nearest station on the route. What a nightmare. Several severely handicapped children laying on mats on the diry floor of the station. Both bathrooms out of order. People sleeping on the floor. The agent was courteous, but had no solution. Continued to say the bus I was scheduled to take was "LATE" but in reality, it was not coming. The next bus would be at 11:00 P.M. If I wanted to take that bus, I would have to find somewhere else to wait as the station closed from 4PM to 9PM. I asked for a refund and was told NO. I was fortunate in that my husband was still with me with our auto so we aborted the Greyhound nightmare. The State of Kentucky better look into the station in Lexington before they have a National Scandal on their hands. No working toilets? Handicapped children laying on the floor? I will never use Greyhound again, my concern in posting is that someone might send a loved one on this atrocious bus line not knowing how terrible it operates.

Greyhound: Stay Away from the bottom of the barrow!!!

My 14 year old son traveled with Greyhound early January 2011 from Athens, AL to Montgomery, AL which is a 2 1/2 hour drive by car. There was a stop in Birmingham and by the time he got to Montgomery he had no bag. The claim process began. I was told they would have 90 days to look for the bag and then would reimburse me. I called all the time from January to May and my claim was not resolved. One day they tell you one thing, the next another, and the next the same thing you were told from day one. Customer service cannot answer anything all they can do is refer your claim to the claims department (a department you cannot even talk to). Long story short finally said they mailed a check 5/11/11 it is 6/2/11 and still have not received it. My son's clothing and misc. items totaled 1800.00 I am only getting 250. This bus company sucks and I will never use them again in my lifetime, my kids lifetimes or my grandkids lifetime. If you dare to ride carry your bag on. If it gets under the bus you may never see it again. So sick of Greyhound that I hate them with a passion.

Greyhound=waste of money

I recently took a one way out of Dayton, Ohio to Chicago, Illinois. It is normally a 5 hour drive. My family waited for my "express bus" to show up to the terminal and became worried after waiting an hour past the scheduled arrival time. First of all, the bus was extremely nasty with paper, used baby pamper and bloodied tissue on the floor. The seats were so nasty and dirty I could literally see the dirt on the seats. Upon alertingt he driver as to the condition of the bus, I was told that the tissue paper and pamper would be removed but nothing else as he has a schedule to keep. I have rode with Greyhound for a number of years and the condition that this bus was in sealed the deal for me. I will no longer waste my money for less than professional service and would advise anyone else not to ride especially if you have a scheduled function to attend as Greyhound is not on time, unprofessional and solely out to make money no matter how unsatisfied the customer may be,

Greyhound=Horrible

I sent this to Greyhound complaint emails. First of all. The employees of the Nashville Greyhound station are extremely rude. They were extremely short with me when the bus departed without notifying myself and 3 other passengers. They basically complained the whole time about having to give us reissue tickets because nobody told us that they were leaving. That is only my departure from Nashville, TN. Upon leaving from Hot Springs, AR I noticed there was a sign posted on their window (because they are apparently closed on the weekend) stating that the bus for 8 p.m. had been cancelled. Upon finding this out. I called your hotline service to ask which one had been cancelled and nobody could give me and another woman a straight answer. After waiting for over an hour of my departure time I left. Only to find out Monday morning that the sign previously stated was for a Friday bus. After waiting for over an hour Monday to get a reissue ticket and calling your complaint line several times (with no answer...any time I called.) I was headed back to Nashville, TN. There was a stop in Memphis, TN. And I noticed that a woman and child had several bags with them. I politely helped them only to realize she was in the wrong lane to get on the bus. Where I then noticed one of your employees being abruptly rude to her and basically yelling at her to move "out of the way" and saying "I'll deal with you when I have the time." I was appalled. Either your expectations for employees has decreased or you simply do not care how your employees talk to YOUR customers. I had a horrible experience on your transportation service and I guarantee I will never use one ever again.

I agree with the last comment the employees in nashville tn are extremely rude and it seems like they have some sort of preference for certain type of passangers. A huge lack of communication and overall very POOR customer service. If employees don't like to deal with people get another job period.
