If I could give less than a one-star rating, I would. I recently booked a trip with Greyhound and it literally could not have been a worse experience. Their employees hate their job and it's very noticeable. I was taking a trip from southern California to the Oregon...

" hate their job" No people don't hate their jobs, they hate people who use this played out cliche. It's a sure sign of a customer from *** People who utter this nonsense typically try to ruin the days of anyone they come across by asking questions they know someone in the trench isn't going to know the answer to while acting high and mighty. Greyhound - WORST SERVICE EVER

The bus had a wiper blade malfunction. We are sitting in a restaurant parking lot for over 3 hours waiting for a rescuse bus. I guess that the drivers are not required to check the bus to ensure that all components operate

Greyhound - Late late late

Details
Booked a round trip bus ticket from North Hollywood to Phoenix this past weeknd for my mom and grandma. The bus departure from Los Angeles to Phoenix was an hour and a half a late, so they had to transfer to a bus that was going to Texas and making a stop in Phoenix. When leaving from Phoenix to North Hollywood the bus was a few minutes late. The bus wasnt even a full bus and they did not open the under bus carrier for luggage because they claimed it was full already. Mind you they were like the 12th person to get in the bus, how is it already full? The guy was just was too lazy to open the storage compartment. It was already 12:10pm and the bus driver was taking her sweet time buying drinks and snacks. Mind you, the departure time was supposed to be 11:40am. If we are paying extra money for this bus when we can buy cheaper tickets elsewhere with much better customer service, something is clearly wrong! Flixbus from here on out.

Greyhound is noted for getting you there a day late and a dollar short.(because you had to fritter away all your money on overpriced food, drink and snacks). Plus, the lice medication that you have to buy at the conclusion of your trip can be quite expensive!

Bus was 5 hrs late at contenting station and over 3 hrs late at destination. Electric plugs or light neither worked. Customer service was a joke. No refund. Foreigners answering phones could care less about talking to you or taking care of the customer. Will never go greyhound again. Do yourself a favor and take a megabus

I would, but they don't service my hometown. And anyway, I have read plenty of Pissed Off Consumer reviews that make it sound almost as bad as Greyhound is. But I would take them if they were an option.

Once, when traveling through Atlanta on Greyhound, I walked around until I found a convenience store to buy some food & drink at. A VERY AGGRESSIVE panhandler hounded me for money and scared me real bad! He acted like he was fixing to mug me at any moment!

@PissedConsumer1681189

YES, AND BECAUSE GREYHOUND CHARGES SUCH HIGH PRICES FOR FOOD, DRINK & SNACKS INSIDE THEIR STATIONS, MANY POOR PEOPLE RISK GETTING MUGGED BECAUSE THEY VENTURE OFF IN SEARCH OF A CHEAP GROCERY STORE TO GO TO. THAT'S WHAT I ALWAYS DO. I GET MUCH MORE FOR MY MONEY, AND I ALSO GET TO STRETCH OUT MY LEGS AND GET TO SEE SOME FRESH NEW SCENERY.

Charlotte, NC Summary - to LA: Leg 1 - Charlotte to Atlanta - Two hours late to Atlanta - missed connecting bus - five hour delay to get re-ticketed. Leg 2 - Atlanta to Dallas - Student driver - kept killing engine - 30 mph at times on freeway - claims transmission problem. Bus declared broken in Jackson Miss. - 12 hour delay - re-ticketed again. Leg 2 (cont.) - Dallas to Phoenix - heater broken; Driver change in El Paso -driver is a no show - three hour delay; Next driver lost 15 yr. old passenger at a stop - police called - two hour delay Leg 3 - Phoenix to LA - a new bus - driver cared about passengers - total surprise. Arrived over 24 hours late Greyhound customer service representative, Pailma, says this is acceptable to Greyhound on a long trip. However Pailma will provide a $15 voucher for future travel or a $10 refund. He thought that was generous. Had paid extra for priority boarding - (drivers thought that was funny)

2 hour delay for a 1 hour trip. Reason: there was no bus assigned for the trip from Hollywood to Oxnard, even though this was a regularly scheduled trip. No Wi-Fi in station, only metal benches. Poorly organized and managed company.

One time when I was riding the Greyhound Bus, I went to go buy 1 liter bottle of Coca Coal at the 7-Eleven store while we were waiting in San Bernardino, California. The cashier put it in a paper bag for me.

I ran back to get back on the bus before it left and the black greyhound employee came onto the bus and demanded that I show him what was in the bag. He thought that I had a quart of booze in it!

I left Conway, Arkansas to go to Florida using Greyhound bus lines. My trip was suppose to go: Conway Little Rock Memphis Nashville Montgomery Ocala. How it really went: Conway Little Rock Memphis Nashville. This is where my bus never showed up. The attendant put several of us in a bus to Brimingham. Which was out of my way. After spending 12 hours in Nashville. I then spent another 12 hours in Brimingham. Never got an apology. Never got any sort of compensation. The driver said "oh well, the desk will get you to Florida" I'm furious!!! What was suppose to take a day and a half took 3 *** days!!! I want my damn money back!!! Wtf

I have ridden the bus many a time when the driver had people put off the bus. Everyone on the bus was always grateful that the rude and obnoxious drunken passengers were removed.

The driver always called ahead to have the police waiting somewhere and then would pull over and the cops would board and remove the offending person(s). The driver never had a bodyguard like you mentioned.

Greyhound is horrible. Me and mother were going to see the play Wicked on Broadway at 2 pm. We have been wanting to see this play for about 5 years. We get to the stop where the New Carrollton bus was supposed to board at 8:30 and leave at 8:55. We got there about 8:15. So we, along with about 15 other people are waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I look at the time and realize its now 8:58. I go online to Greyhound's website to track the bus. No bus is showing up online for my timeslot. A young lady beside me hears me fussing and says she doesn' t see it either. I call the 1-800 number on my printed ticket, only to be told that if I have a complaint, call a 214 phone number. Called the number only to be told by Manuel, employee number 351 that I must call the DC office. I asked why do I have to call, can't you transfer me or do a conference call? He says no. I hang up thinking this day is going to be terrible. I call the DC office, spoke to someone for 2 minutes and then she "transferred" me to make a complaint line. I sat on hold for 24 minutes with NO response. I hung up in disgust. I then spoke to the ticket agent (and let me explain that we all are OUTSIDE waiting as its overcast and about to rain) who had no idea that we were waiting for this bus. Another bus comes but it is going to Atlantic City, not NYC. The ticket agent did try to help by asking the bus driver if he could take us to Baltimore and she'll let Baltimore know that were coming. Get to Baltimore and we all missed the 10:00 bus by 15 minutes. Okay, transfer our tickets to the 11:00 bus. "Sorry, we're sold out. I have 12:40 open." Suffice to say, we missed Wicked because we didn't arrive to NYC until 4:00, thanks to the incompetence of Greyhound. Refund for my tickets? Nah but they were SO nice to offer me $25
