Greyhound - Ticket Exchange

1.0
Details
Bought a flexible fare ticket, knowing my date and location of travel may need to change. Now I've been told the following after over an hour on the phone with various customer service people: "actually, you can only change the date not the location" (website says otherwise) "had you bought an economy or economy plus ticket we could change the location and date but since you bought flexible we cannot" (doesn't say that anywhere, only says under exchanges that you can change whatever needs to be changed). Not sure why I spent about $30 to get a ticket I was told would allow me to make changes easiest only to now get this service. Just want to do what all of the website information says I can do.

User's recommendation: Apparently don't waste your money on flexible fares because they're a lie????

You should have caught you an Uber. It would have costed you alot less than one thousand dollar.

Those taxi drivers charge you an arm and a leg just to go a few miles.

It is Highway Robbery, I tell you. For one thousand dollar you could have stayed weekly rate of 400 dollar at the Knight's Inn in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and had plenty of money leftover to pig out at McDonalds next door, an American Crap Fast Food Style Restaurant and had money to pay for KaShondra and her friends to keep you company.

Should not go with Greyhound!

1.0
Details
Pricing showed on the web 51$ one way from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. The lady at the counter told me 3 days ago that I could buy the ticket just before my arrival but the price may change for couple of bucks more. Result...the pricing is 92$!!! That's what I call a "steal" or "ripping off people"! In French...du vol! You should be ashamed working for such a company. If there is no modification on the pricing of my ticket I will surely let people know via web how you treat your customers. It is my first time with Greyhound and it will be my last. I promess you. Really bad business model. Really bad decision makers in your company. It is such a short term view. Yanik Paquin. 5149267217

It sounds like you should have just thumbed you a ride. Then with all of the money that you had saved, you could have treated the person giving you a ride with gas money and a delicious meal from a nice restaurant.

Greyhound buslines does not care about its customers

Details
I was in NYC waiting to take the 6:30 pm bus to RI. They told us they did not have a driver. We asked when are you going to get a driver? They said they did not know. in the meantime, there was a 7 pm bus to Boston. we asked if we could get on that bus and if they could have it stop in RI as they had to go through RI to get to Boston and they said no. So we waited. And they said no driver yet. We ask when are yo going to get a driver? They said they did not know. They abandoned us. We did not know if we were going to have to stay there all night and no one from the company was helping us. We found out that the last peter pan bus left for RI at 7 pm. They could have given us that info as an option. Instead they said it was not their job. We went to customer services and they said they could not help us and to go downstairs again. They were al so rude. The line at customer service was out the door which tells you how many complaints they had. Next door, there was no one in the peter pan line showing how few complaints that company gets. The Greyhound customer service room was filthy. The peter pan room was clean. By now we are in tears as no one is helping us or telling us if they are going to get a driver? We asked could we be here all night? They said we could. Finally they get a bus driver who tells us he was hanging around waiting for an assignment and they just called him a few minutes before! We get on the bus at 9 pm and get to RI at 1 am ON A WORKNIGHT. I called to request a refund and they would not give me one. This is a company that DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. THIS IS VERY CLEAR. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!

Greyhound - WORST SERVICE EVER

I paid for a ticket for myself and my daughter to back home to St. Paul MN and was under a winter storm and asked to have it rescheduled for next Thursday. I was told that I would need to pay $20 for myself and my daughter. I told them I am not doing that because if the airlines can provide you with a refund and reschedule the dates for free why can't they do it. They are trying to get more money out of people and that is not right. This is my last time ever using greyhound TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE...

I used to live under bridge #23 Ashland, Oregon. The Mr.C's.

Grocery store across the street doubled as the local Greyhound Bus station with a yellow picnic table on the side of the building serving as the waiting area. Once, I went into the station, inquiring of Mrs.C. how much it would be for an Ameripass for a week. She replied "You want to know how much it would be for an ameripass in exhchange for *** And the guy who worked there started laughing real hard.

I wasn't particularly fond of this Greyhound station. Many people wouldn't shop in this store because of the way the owner Mr.C. was such a rude jerk. I bought 3 different tickets to Florida, and I paid $1 to ride the local transit bus up to Medford, 11 miles north to buy my tickets there, rather than just simply walk across the street to purchase them from Mr.C, because I didn't want that jerk to get the 10% or 15% commission that his store made from each ticket.

Once, I overheard Mrs.C talking about it and she said that all of the commissions from the sale of Greyhound tickets added up to alot of money for their store, hundreds of dollars a month. I had a friend named Dermott who was a Vietnam War Hero who earned a Bronze Star from the '68 Tet Offensive. He lived under the bridge with me for a while and one time he got so pissed off at Mr.C., that he called up the Greyhound Bus Headquarters and reported Mr.C.'s rude and offensive behavior towards his customers. The Greyhound Representative laughed and told Dermott that every time they get a complaint over the phone about the way a Greyhound Bus Station is being run, that it's about Mr.C.'s Market.

One night, Dermott was run over by a Jeep and killed while he was walking across the highway with a bunch of beer and liquor to go drink with his buddies before he was to leave for Salt Lake City, Utah the next morning on a prepaid nonrefundable Greyhound Ticket. When Mr.C heard about it he said "Someone did me a favor! I didn't like that guy!" Eventually, Greyhound stopped service to Ashland, and anyone traveling out of there had to go the 11 miles to the Medford station to take their trip. If Mr.C.

hadnn't been such a jerk, he could have made all of the commissions of my expensive Greyhound Bus tickets. I'm sure that other people probably did the same thing and that probably influenced the company stopping service to Ashland. Greyhound Stations Operators should always treat all of their customers with the upmost respect. Once, I asked Dermott what he thought that the "C" stood for in "Mr.C." and Dermott said that it meant 'Mr.

C---------" (a real bad word that can't be printed on here, but which is heard often in street talk). Anyway, when I think about it, Mr.C.'s' jerky behavior really was right on par with the way that your Typical Greyhound Employee treats it's customers.

They would make so much more money if they treated everyone with kindness and respect. Basic Business Economics.

Greyhound - Complaint about Refund Policy

1.9
Details
I bought two tickets to Greyhound from Newark, NJ to Scranton, PA on October 18, 2017, for returning the next day, and my husband couldn't travel with me at last minute, so I called to this not generous bus company customer service for request my refund, and the person who assisted me, after an hour waiting, and told me that I should mail to Greyhound PO Box in Dallas, a copy of my husband ticket with reference number that Greyhound representative gave me. I did all that person told me, I mailed it and until now I didn't receive any feedback. Then, I called to Greyhound to find out what happened with my refund, because I thought was fair they give me an explanation as their loyal customer, and after waiting on line Greyhound representative told me that they can't do anything for me because my ticket was non refundable, and I said to him why their representative last year didn't tell me that my ticket was non refundable because I didn't have that information, and for that I asked that person who assisted me today that Greyhound at least should indemnize me, or giving me at least a discount on a new ticket I have to buy this days, and I think they should do this to keep me, a loyal customer, happy, because right now I'm feeling very disappointed of this bus company, and I don't wish use their service anymore, but I need to travel from New Jersey to Scranton, PA these days, and I realize that Greyhound is the only bus company that has buses from New Jersey to Scranton. I think that Greyhound should be more ethical and professional.

Greyhound - Had to order ticket over the phone...then, on pick-up, they wouldn't accept the voucher number

Update by user Aug 12, 2018

After lodging this complaint, was given a full refund for the price of my ticket...however, the computer site still acts hinky, from time to time...just have to risk refreshing the screen and re-installing all info, to be able to just print the ticket at home. Greyhound states they are still working the bugs out of the new system...home ticket printers, beware of "stalls."

Original review posted by user Jul 13, 2018
I tried to purchase a round-trip ticket on Greyhound's "updated" website...got all of the way to the last step & a 1-800 came up, stating I would have to do this over the phone. I did; and, the Customer Service representative (overseas) was very polite...but, we did have a tiny struggle with the language barrier. However, he did clearly state that he could not apply my earned 15% discount, over the phone; I would have to print out the discount code and take it to the actual Greyhound office for pickup, in order to have it applied. He also said it was ok to wait up to a week to pick it up, there, just before my trip. I wasn't comfortable with this, so I called the local Greyhound office the next day, and I was immediately advised to pick it up within 24 hours, or they couldn't hold my seat...so, Greyhound is overselling like the airlines, now? I did get down to the local Greyhound office the next day; I know the lady behind the counter--a real straight-shooter; and, she stated the Customer Service representative had given me bad information: the discount code can only be used for online purchases...period. I thanked her, took the ticket and made my trip. So, for my next online booking, the site wouldn't let me apply the 15% discount code, though it didn't state anything, onscreen, specifically; however, after the third try, I got to the final button, and the site tanked, again, telling me I would have to do it over the phone... Since I'd already run Malware and Spybot that morning, I rebooted, instead, and got my ticket to go through, finally, online. But, this is not an improved website, if it pulls stunts like this! Has anyone else gone through anything similar? Many thanks!

Highway Robbery! They should appreciate your son's business by helping him out with a new ticket.

The greedy M.F.'s.!. Greyhound rips people off because they know that they have you hook, line and sinker.

They should be ashamed of themselves with all of their unethical business practices. They need to Respect their customers!

Ticket purchased on Greyhound.com is not honored by driver

1.4
Details
Purchased ticket (conf number 76642683) on Greyhound.com Bus driver refused boarding saying that greyhound should not have sold ticket for his bus. That he rejects those tickets daily and only accepts tickets from Short Lines and Megabus. I was forced to use alternative transportation (uber and another bus ticket $250). Have called Greyhound three times: case 157885, spoke with Leonel, Mr. Gonzales and Mr. Ortega (supervisor). All three told me that greyhound is not responsible and I should talk with the bus operator other bus line. Completely refused to resolve the situation, even did not offer the refund (which would not be sufficient). On Monday I will file complain with DOT. Looking to an attorney who might be interested in class action suit assuming that this is common practice
