I cannot imagine what's happening with Greyhound buses. I am currently on a 6:30pm bus from NYC to Mt. Laurel, NJ. Today is Saturday, July 28, 2018. First, the bus was late because, "they did not have a driver for the bus and were waiting to get one." Finally a driver...

Greyhound bus 1:00p on Sunday July 8, 2018 from Ithaca, NY to NYC: starting with two obnoxious and unhelpful counter women at the Ithaca bus station. Then the bus: shabby, unclean, elect outlets did not work, a/c was harsh, two metal rings at the bottom of my seat...

You talk about Greyhound being "Slow and Shabby" like it is something unusual, out of the ordinary. What you describe is typical of all Greyhound Buses.

Greyhound - Horrible Service

1.8
Details
My email to Greyhound that bounced back as undeliverable ... I am writing to inform you on how appalled and disappointed I am with Greyhound Bus Lines customer service - phone and how passengers were treated. My mother, a senior citizen, was scheduled to depart New York at 11 am to travel to Richmond, VA arriving at 6:30pm. The original bus never arrived/passengers never got any notice until the dispatcher finally got them a different bus that arrived/left around 1:30pm, 2 and 1/2 hours later than scheduled. Then only to have an unscheduled stop in NJ at 3pm, left without a driver for over 2 hours!!!! No notice except that an alternate driver from Philadelphia was coming. This is ridiculous!! No announcements to the passengers or any explanation?? I call customer service to figure out what couldve possibly gone wrong and yet again, I am told that they DO NOT HAVE THAT INFORMATION?? And when someone could finally give me some glimpse of information, I was told that the bus will now arrive at 10:30pm . 4 hours later than expected!!! A total of nearly 12 hours to get somewhere in 6 hours???? What kind of business are you running here??? This is unacceptable. The customer complaint representative informed me that compensation would only be guaranteed if the customer completed their journey!! For what? To deal with the same aggravation round trip?! I will tell everyone that I know to NEVER UTILIZE GREYHOUND BUS LINES EVER!!! Your company does not care about its customers nor anyone for that matter and that you are just there for the bottom line to rape customers of their hard earned money for UNSATISFACTORY SERVICE!!! Thank you for ruining my mothers first experience with Greyhound. You have lost a customer for ever!!

Greyhound Bus Service Review

3.0

The bus smeeled like POO all the trip up from NY to Boston. There were people talking at their phones and the driver did NOT say anything about that, acting like it was normal to talk at that volume inside a bus. Incredible. I'm so pissed off and not satisfied about the service. My dog would have driven better. And, I've to point that out, I don't own a dog. Thumbs straight down

Greyhound - Abusive Attendant and 2 Hours Late and Union Station Not Friendly

The 9:00am bus from Union Station Bus terminal (Washington D.C.) to NYC was two hours late. One of the two yellow-jacketed passenger attendants was abusive. Yelling at me to get off the phone and used the F * word - when I was talking to Customer Service 214-849-8966. Later, the same (no identification on yellow jacket) attendant approached me accompanied by a uniformed guard (Officer Davies). The attendant yelled at me again, demanding my cell phone that I had been taking pictures illegally, that I would not be allowed on my bus. He kept yelling at me - he was very discourteous, and frightening. I was afraid of being taken out of line and brought somewhere. Also, Union Station, in the nation's capital, is a disgrace. Passengers are cordoned off by ropes labeled A to E on the concrete floor of the garage - it is noisy and full of gas fumes. There is no air conditioning in 90F heat, there is no PA system. We were herded back and forth , first along the back wall and back to the passenger-cordoned area.

Greyhound "Bait & Switch"

1.8
Details
I have to say that I was very disappointed on my "Greyhound" trip this past week... I booked a fully refundable round-trip ticket from SYR to NYC online through the Greyhound website. I had not traveled on a bus in almost 40 years, but the rates were too good to pass up and the buses looked great... I printed my ticket at home and both the tickets were labeled "Priority Seating", but the only the return was marked "Trailways"... I assumed this to be like an airline "code share" arrangement, and didn't think anything of it. I paid "full price" for a refundable ticket and priority seating and comparable amenities. Specifically it said (on my RETURN ticket ONLY): "This part of your trip will be with our partner bus company, NEW YORK TRAILWAYS ###. Some of our partner carriers are unable to honor priority boarding, but you’ll still get all the other great perks that come with your chosen fare." When I got to the SYR station, it was NOT a modern Greyhound bus that waited for me... It was an older Trailways bus with cloth seats, cramped legroom, and a disgusting bathroom... Certainly NOT the leatherette seats and spacious, "upscale" interior, very nice Prevost bus advertised on the Greyhound website. Everyone was already in line, so I got in line, too. When I got to the bus, I asked about the "Priority Seating" and was told "Oh, you should have come to the front of the line first..." No announcements, no signage, nothing... How was I to know? On the return trip from NYC, I went right to the agent at the front of the line when I arrived at the terminal, and showed them the "Priority Seating" designation on my ticket. He said "We don't do that here." Are you kidding? I paid extra for that "great perk" and never got it. On both buses, the rest room was filthy and foul smelling, the WiFi was spotty at best (I had to keep re-logging on) and on the return bus, the AC power plugs (to charge cell phones, laptops, etc) were so loose the plug kept falling out. Neither myself nor my seat mate could use them. I feel like a "bait and switch" victim, and can tell you plainly that I shall NEVER, EVER, AGAIN travel by Greyhound or Trailways. Greyhound needs to up their game...

Greyhound Bus Service Review from Oneonta, New York

1.0
Details
Grey hound has consistently *** me over every trip I take. For instance in New york's port authority I have been told "directly to Rochester" then spend 30 minutes in Syracuse making my arrival time significantly longer. Not only that the bus drivers and people who work at the station are never on the SAME PAGE. How hard would it be for greyhound to organize it's self? This business needs a reboot. I should not have to sit and wait 30 minutes at a station just so they can get more passengers. We were supposed to leave at 3pm, it is now 3:29 and we still haven't left Syracuse. Something needs to be done.

Terrible Greyhound Customer service

2.0
Details
Terrible service a lot of the time.. where do I begin? - The schedules are more of a wish list than an actual schedule; buses seems to leave whenever they want to. Drivers stand around chatting with each other for 10,15, 20 minutes while the bus is already late departing(this is a fairly regular occurrence, not just a one time deal). One time a driver even admitted to the passenger that he was having a "heated disagreement" with his supervisor, and that why we were leaving 30 min late. - Breakdowns that leave you waiting for an hour and a half for a new bus and Greyhound wont even respond to an email or do anything to compensate you for the delay which was their fault - As far as Road Rewards, they dont credit your trips a lot of times and you have to call them in(sometimes more than once) to get credit for your trips. Now, the newly re-designed website doesnt give you a list of free trips and their expiration dates like it used to so you dont know when your free trips/rewards expire other than the one that has the LONGEST expiration date. When you try to redeem, the website tries to use the one with the LONGEST expiration date, not the one expiring next week. Geez.. SO FRUSTRATING. I already lost one free trip due to this and customer service assures me they will fix the issue but nothing fixed so far. - And the topper was a bus from Pitts to NY that I got on in Philadelphia a while back.. absolutely NO fluid in the toilet tank so the bus totally REEKED of human waste, along with NO toilet paper and the toilet seat practically covered with ***. Toilet must not have been attended to for quite a while to not even have any fluid in the toilet. GROSS!!!!

Greyhound - Bus Service Review from Waterford, New York

35 years on this earth and I have avoided using a bus to travel up until this point. Unfortunately I finally found myself in a position of having to take a Greyhound bus. I can assure you that it will be the last time. I will gladely pay twice as much for a plane ticket in order to avoid it. I had three transfers which I was OK with, no big deal. The problem was that I decided to use Greyhound because on their website they specificly advertised that they now offered wifi and charging outlets. I figured that I would be able to get some work done during the extremly long trip. Fat chance!!!!! The first bus they put me on was not even a Greyhound. It was in horrible condition. The AC worked very poorly and as far as wifi or charging outlets.......forget it! I'm pretty sure that bus was built before wifi was ever invented. So complaint #1 FALSE ADVERTISING! The second bus was one of the newer ones but the *** charging outlets were broken. The problem was reported before departure and we were told that there was noting they could do to repair it. Complaint # 2 POORLY MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT! I can't help but wonder what else has been neglected on these buses. I'm not going to be able to get any of work done and in my case it's going to cost me more money due to down time that if I had just paid for a plane ticket. I would recommend avoiding Greyhound at all costs if you can. Oh and I haven't made it to my third transfer yet but I am not expecting much I assure you.
